“The Pools of Venus” is one of the most beautiful and suggestive corners of the Costa di Orosei. Situated between the beach of Cala biriola and the Grotte del Fico, this cove can be reached only by sea, in about 25 minutes by boat departing from Cala Gonone.Surrounded by high rocks, it has a beach composed mainly of pebbles and large grains of sand with rocks scattered here and there; the colors of the water are of a living turquoise because of the numerous springs coming from the cliff and the sea bottom, which makes it so crystal clear that the floating boats almost look like suspended in the air. The origin of the name comes from a tourist operator of Cala Gonone for the beauty of this mirror of water and the changing color of the walls that surround it.
